PCB prototype circuit board manufacturing process-the difference between dry film and wet film
Dry film or wet film processes are used when circuit board manufacturers produce PCB boards for circuit processing. The technical staff of circuit board manufacturers will choose the corresponding process type according to the design difficulty and cost control of the circuit board.
If you have worked in a circuit board factory, it is easy to understand the difference between dry and wet films on PCB boards. Because dry films are more expensive, the relative cost for some small circuit board manufacturers will be higher. Therefore, most of the small and medium-sized PCB suppliers still use the wet film process.
Let's analyze the difference between the two processes:
The process of making dry film for circuit boards is easy to operate, especially using automatic film laminating machines, which can be produced on a large scale. Wet films are cheap, but automatic lines are not good. Wet films are fine for theoretically fine lines, but wet films also have many other problems.
In general, dry film is better than wet film, convenient and stable. The disadvantage is that it is just expensive. If it is an engineer, I choose a dry film with less trouble and convenient control.
Dry film is not necessarily better than wet film, they each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Dry film is more expensive, but it can flood holes and has high accuracy (it is not easy to pinch).
The price of PCB prototype wet film is much cheaper than wet film. It is equivalent to 1/7. When it cannot flood the holes and the oil film enters the hole, it is difficult to control the hole. In theory, the accuracy of the wet film is higher than that of the dry film. Easy to pinch is difficult to achieve high-precision plate and requires secondary drilling.
But in general, wet film is more cost-effective than dry film.
