PCB board storage and shelf life
After the final product inspection, the PCB board is vacuum packaged and stored for shipment after OK. So why should the PCB board be vacuum packed? How to store after vacuum packaging? How long is its shelf life? The following circuit board factory will briefly introduce the storage methods and shelf life of PCB boards for you.
Why do PCB boards need to be vacuum packed? Although this problem is small, it is a problem that many circuit board manufacturers attach great importance to. Because once the PCB board is not sealed, the surface of the gold, spray tin and pad parts will be oxidized and affect the welding, which is not conducive to production.
So, how to store PCB boards? The circuit board is no better than other products, and it cannot be in contact with air and water. First of all, the PCB board cannot be damaged by vacuum. A layer of bubble film must be placed on the side of the box when packing. The bubble film has better water absorption, which plays a very good role in preventing moisture. Of course, moisture-proof beads are also indispensable. Then sort them and place them on labels. After sealing, the box must be stored in a dry and ventilated place with partition walls and off the ground, and avoid sunlight. The temperature of the warehouse is best controlled at 23±3℃, 55±10%RH. Under such conditions, PCB boards with surface treatments such as immersion gold, electro-gold, spray tin, and silver plating can generally be stored for 6 months. Surface-treated PCB boards such as Shen tin and OSP can generally be stored for 3 months.
For PCB boards that are not used for a long time, the circuit board manufacturer is best to apply a layer of three-proof paint on it. The role of the three-proof paint can prevent moisture, dust and oxidation. In this way, the storage life of the PCB board will be increased to 9 months.
